2.5 out of 10 Comedy?
Catherine from Limerick, 05 Sep 2008
I'm sure this was a good movie and had it some interesting insights into morality and double standards for men and women. For me it was disappointing because it was described as a comedy. I selected it because I wanted a good laugh but I did not laugh once. There may have been some irony but no comedy for me.

2.5 out of 10 Looks beautiful, but thin in substance
Maggie from Mayo, 13 May 2008
Beautiful setting and costumes. Looks good, and generally well acted and well produced. Some good one liners. A typical Oscar Wilde story, full of misunderstandings and mistaken identity. If you like Oscar Wilde, you will probably enjoy this film, but it didn't do it for me.

3 out of 10 On the fence with this one.
William from Dublin, 28 May 2008
Was a bit surprised with this one. Wasn't sure what to expect, and not sure if I got it afterwards! Wasn't too bad, Helen Hunt and Scarlet Johannsen were both out of their depth a bit, but besides that it wasn't too bad.

3.5 out of 10 Great film
Ivana from Dublin, 29 Mar 2011
It is quite different than most new films, it certainly does not rely on special effects. I was pleasantly surprised, great cast, unexpected twist and overall it is worth watching.

4 out of 10 A Good Movie
Tanya from Dublin, 13 Dec 2007
What an excellent movie, I am a big fan of the book that this movie is based on and was truly moved by the whole thing. The gentlemen dialogues were excellent as was Helen Hunt

What's it about....
Scarlett Johansson and Mark Umbers star as Meg and Robert Windermere, a young couple, whose marriage in put in jeopardy, by high-society gossip of an affair, following the arrival of Helen Hunt as Mrs. Erlynne, a vampish older woman of ill repute... Based on Oscar Wilde's "Lady Windermere's Fan", A Good Woman is an elegant, witty romantic comedy set in the 1930s on the beautiful Italian Riviera.
