Hemmingway at his best.

A tragic love affair set during the first world war, taken from a book by Ernest Hemmingway.
Interesting film from the early days of Talkie's, Gary Cooper is good, a far cry from his Western roles. It follows the Book quite closely, and for its time is very risky.
Watchable

There are some decent parts in this, but there seemed to be some gaps in the story, but that could also be because it didn't keep me at the edge of my seat... I was more in the middle of it, for most of it.
Wouldn't watch it a second time.
Good for a movie of that time
