Very boring film with a boring story, mostly terrible acting and below par CGI. Really disappointed with what I saw, and I wanted to turn it off many times throughout. I forced myself to watch it to the end, hoping there might be a nice payoff scene at the finale. That never arrived though. Best avoided!

Good movie but really not what you would expect from the trailers. It is less about pre historic animals as it is about one man's odessy to save his people and prove himself worthy of the leadership role he earned by unusual means.
Having said that both myself and my husband really enjoyed it.
Really comes to life with Blu-ray

Once you get over the fact that this is not based on any realistic interpretation of prehistoric archaeology this is a really enjoyable film. There is some good acting and great special effects rounded off by a feel-good story with some poignant moments. Really shows off the benefits of blu-ray!

I loved ID4 and The day after tomorrow. They are pretty enjoyable big budget disaster movies & totally brain dead at the same time. This however was too silly even for me. The plot is beyond ridiculous, seemingly a mishmash of stolen ideas from other flicks. But it is mostly just boring.

If you like blockbusters you should like this. It's expensive stuff with huge set pieces and a lot of effects and feels like a family friendly version of Aplocalypto. Its not a bad watch but you will have forgotten it by morning.
